Cosmo Festival 2010

Cosmo Festival marked the the greatest acheivement for me as a psy producer (It was the equivalent of our metal band playing a festival in SA called OppieKoppi, years ago)
I got alot of great feedback, and met many fantastic people, many of which are now good friends. Thanks Guys! Also, it was a real honor to play before Ocelot and to get to meet him, very weird experiance.
Highlights for me were: Deviant Species, Ocelot, Radioactive Cake, Alrune and ....

forgiven

Heres a non-dance song I made a few months back, inspired by one of my favorite artists of all-time, Plaid

The Big Four

Well, this event was thrust apon me by my good buds Chris and Matt, and what a weird night it was. Went to the Stratford PictureHouse to catch the Big Four live from Bulgaria. Gosh, you know how difficult it is to watch Slayer whilst sitting in a cinema??!! Actually, there were a gruop of folks who were headbanging down by the screen. At least we were able to drink beer for 4 hours, that was the strategic motive of travelling to Stratford. A bit sad to see ole Dave Mustaine looking and singing so poorly. But it rekindled my respect for Slayer, they blew the other bands out the water!! And so amazing to start singing along to old slayer songs, the lyrics musta been deeply intrenched in my sub-conscious all these years, shiiiiit! Though we noticed Tom Araya (Who's aged pretty damn well, must be a deal with the devil) seemed to conveniently miss out all the words that reference the haulocaust! Interesting......

Flight of the Conchords

Saw Flight of the Conchords at Wembley in May, it was awesome to see them live. They played all the classics, though i thought that was a bit cheap, what the hell have they been doing all these years? But at least I got to hear the hiphopapotamus and Rhymasouras do thier mean-ass rapping!!!!!! and 'The Humans are Dead' intro to the concert rocked!

new fungi symbol

So I've been thinking about this for a while, I wanted a simple little symbol to represent fractalfungi. I drew a few f's on paper, and then started to see this funky little character dancing. I gave him an eye, to really kae it obvious. I think this design could still evolve a bit though. I made this one for a baseball cap, but I havent managed to get it embroidered yet....

I like his little smile, i think it fits with the cheakiness of the fungi tunes....

The Faceless Rock!

I was so chuffed to see The Faceless last night, amazing technical skill. Obscura was also suprisingly dynamic on stage, as was Black Dahlia Murder, who ended off in style by actually blowing the PA! I gotta say, Hannes Grossmann of Obscura, is an amzing drummer, i have never seen someone play so fast, but so relaxed at the same time, a real zen moment. here is his personal myspace

2010 News

Well, firstly, Distant Tremor was a blast!!! First time I have played live guitar in a a trance set, and it worked out and was received really well.

I have remastered a few old tracks, and given them the intros they deserves (i was a bit lazy at the time) check out the new sounds on the website fractalfungi.com
